The Hunt Club Environment
|
EnvironmentThe Hunt Club is one of only five Victorian HIA GreenSmart accredited residential estates and is being created along sustainable principles that will benefit residents for many years to come. A key highlight of the estate's commitment to sustainability is the supply of Class A recycled water. The Hunt Club was the first residential estate in Victoria to supply recycled water direct to homes for use in toilet flushing, garden watering and car washing. This magnificent water saving resource is supplied to homes via a dual pipe system. As you drive around The Hunt Club you will notice purple coloured taps in the front gardens - this clearly marks that Class A recycled water flows from this fitting. What this means is that through the use of recycled water for non-drinking purposes (toilet flushing and garden watering) you can help ease the burden on drinking water supplies without having to go without water for essential needs. By using Class A recycled water residents can reduce their drinking water usage by approximately 40 percent. When The Hunt Club estate is fully developed residents will save the equivalent of 100 Olympic-sized swimming pools of precious drinking water each year. Not only does using Class A recycled water help the environment, but it also saves money as it is charged at a lower rate than standard water supplies. Recycled water will also be used to keep many of the open spaces and parts at The Hunt Club green and lush all year round. All land for sale in the current stage land release, as well as the great value house and land packages, can access this fabulous water-saving initiative reducing your household drinking water consumption by up to 40 percent. The introduction of recycled water is just one of the many sustainable features at The Hunt Club. Other highlights include:
The sustainable features of The Hunt Club have also been recognised by peer organisations the HIA and UDIA. The estate won a prestigious Environmental Excellence award from the UDIA - Victoria, has been awarded the HIA GreenSmart Best Estate of the Year and was a finalist in a national UDIA Environmental Excellence national award. The Hunt Club is also proud to be one of only five HIA GreenSmart accredited residential estates in Victoria. This HIA environmental initiative recognises developments that have achieved minimal environmental impact, maximum energy efficiency and superior urban design (two of the other four estates are project managed by the Dennis Family Corporation - Rose Grange in Tarneit and Manor Lakes in Wyndham Vale). |
